Noor is a young woman who has always lived in the shadow of the Taj Mahal. Her family is one of the many who have been entrusted with the care of the iconic mausoleum, and Noor has grown up knowing that her life is dedicated to serving the Taj. She is a devout Muslim, and she believes that her duty to God is to protect the Taj from any harm.

Murad is an artist who has come to Agra to paint the Taj Mahal. He is a talented artist, but he is also a troubled man. He has lost his wife and child, and he is struggling to find meaning in his life. When he meets Noor, he is immediately drawn to her beauty and her kindness. Noor is the first person who has ever made him feel like he is truly seen.

As Noor and Murad spend more time together, they begin to fall in love. However, their love is forbidden. Noor is promised to another man, and Murad is a Muslim who is not allowed to marry a Hindu woman. Despite the obstacles, Noor and Murad are determined to be together. They meet in secret, and they share their dreams and their hopes for the future.

However, their love is not without its challenges. Noor's family disapproves of her relationship with Murad, and they try to keep the two lovers apart. Murad is also haunted by his past, and he fears that he will never be able to give Noor the happiness she deserves.

Despite the challenges, Noor and Murad's love for each other only grows stronger. They are determined to be together, no matter what the cost. They eventually find a way to marry, and they start a family together. However, their happiness is short-lived. Murad's past catches up with him, and he is forced to leave Noor and their children behind.

Noor is heartbroken, but she is determined to raise her children on her own. She never gives up hope that Murad will return to her one day. She waits for him for many years, and finally, her dream comes true. Murad returns to Agra, and he is reunited with Noor and their children. They are finally able to live happily ever after.

Guards at the Taj is a beautifully written and deeply moving novel that will stay with readers long after they finish the last page. It is a story about the power of love, the healing nature of forgiveness, and the importance of living life to the fullest.
